Incredible You: Deluxe Acupuncture Facial

Botox may seem acceptable these days for an increasing number of women, young and old. But for those who want to bear their face in public afterwards there is another way: acupuncture. While most of us are slowly coming around to the brilliance of Eastern medicine when it comes to curing ailments that GPs just dismiss, putting needles in your face to turn back time might seem a little too out there. But it really works. If you don’t believe me, take a look at Angelina Jolie and Julianne Moore; these two pretties have both experienced the magical hands of esteemed London acupuncturist and facialist Linda Carter.

And now, so have I.

While I don’t yet have the jowls or laughter lines that cause many a sleepless night, I do have stressed out skin right now. But after a 2-hour deluxe Acupuncture facial at Incredible You I saw a definite improvement: my skin felt a bit tighter, especially round the eyes, and my complexion definitely looked clearer and more radiant all over.

After an initial consultation, Linda set to work on the deep tissue massage: apparently, neck and back tension can really impede blood flow to the face, thus preventing true beauty (wow, if only I could get regular massages, who knows how gorgeous I could be!); I wasn’t complaining, the massage was amazing. Then on to the acupuncture. Being a true fan of the needles (well, the after effects, you understand), Linda gave me a few body points as well as the face ones, to really get the Chi flowing, and then left me to think happy thoughts. Apparently, the needles wake up the muscles, which stimulates blood flow to the surface, increasing collagen production and cell renewal.

Once the needles were all out, I was ‘treated’ to medical electro stimulation to exercise, firm and tighten the muscles around my eyes. It felt like wiggly worms were burrowing under my skin – a little uncomfortable around the sinuses but nothing a little deep breathing couldn’t fix. Then to top it all off Linda massaged in some Environ Vitamin A-rich Debut moisturising cream, before sending me off, feeling decidedly more Incredible, to float along the streets of Pimlico. I would wholeheartedly recommend Linda’s Acupuncture Facial to anyone. Whether you need to tighten up the saggy bits or just loosen up after a hard week, a session with Linda is guaranteed to put you at ease and brighten your day, as well as your skin.

Honestly, it really doesn't hurt. A teensy bit of discomfort as the needles go in (which isn't all that far, fret not) and that's it. I'm becoming a bit of an acu junkie at the moment, truth be told..and I have to say Linda has the gentlest touch I've ever experienced. Instant radiance guaranteed. Definitely worth it!
